Victorian President – Australian Family Association
NCC research officer; News Weekly columnist
Chris McCormack worked as a photojournalist in regional and suburban newspapers throughout Australia before commencing work with the
NCC/AFA in 2017.
He is passionate about improving the financial assistance to families in Australia through government policy at a time when rising costs of
living are forcing decisions to create smaller families and the associated problems of ever-increasing taxes to pay for an aging population, not to mention an ever-increasing retirement age to raise taxation revenue.
State government policies restricting land release are driving land prices to a level that indebts families for all their life, restricts family size or prevents the possibility of ever owing a home.
Higher education student loans mean new graduates are saddled with huge debts before they even start looking for a job in a highly competitive job market where the real unemployment rate is 4 to 5 times higher than official figures.
Government policy robbing water from farmers to send out to sea is destroying families, our agricultural industry and rural and regional Australia, making us more reliant on imported food.
Ideological opposition to fossil fuels is driving electricity prices to unsustainable levels. Radical free trade policies allow imported goods to flood in undercutting local manufacturing and food and other locally-made products, seeing more Australian jobs lost to foreign nations.
The sanctity of human life has largely been legislated away, with abortion till birth, euthanasia, and surrogacy laws being passed, and now three-person IVF and embryonic experimentation being considered by the federal government.
Only the National Civic Council and Australian Family Association are at the forefront of the battle against the ideologies driving laws in Australia that are destroying the financial, spiritual and psychological lives of Australians. We are there to rally grassroots support for the betterment of the country and to counter the dark forces that seek to destroy all that is good in this country and abroad.
Our efforts extend to influencing and lobbying politicians to vote for legislation which is in the best interest of all Australians, not just minority and vested interest groups. We are also involved in youth formation which is informing the next generation of the ideologies being advocated which are detrimental to our way of life and how these threats to our freedoms and way of life can best be countered. This is why Chris believes that the NCC/AFA is best placed to influence the future direction of Australia for the better, and he is happy to be able to do his part in fighting the good fight.
