In the West Australian state election in 2017, Labor won a 12-seat majority in the Legislative Assembly. That is 41 of the 59 seats available. Labor also became the dominant party in the Legislative Council, with 14 of 36 seats.

If the polls and if the mostly left-leaning media providing election coverage (which can be often over-inflated) are even half-correct, Labor is poised to come out ahead, and by a far margin at that.
