Great coal wall of China: Why will China stop funding coal-powered stations
In the run-up to Cop26, the United Nations climate summit in Glasgow, the Chinese Government was widely applauded by environmentalists for its decision to stop financing coal-fired power stations in the developing world.
The announcement was the centrepiece of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s announcement to the UN General Assembly, setting out China’s plans to limit carbon-dioxide emissions before the Glasgow climate conference.
