The Australian Government has decided to withdraw its support for the Kyoto Protocol to control “greenhouse” gases, following the Bush Administration’s decision late in March not to sign the agreement.The accord, reached in Kyoto in 1997, has been signed by more than 100 countries but only comes into force when countries ratify it.
