Biden Climate pledge risks Democrats' second term
At a virtual climate summit of 40 world leaders he convened on April 22, U.S. President Joe Biden promised to deliver a cut in U.S. greenhouse gases of at least 50 per cent by 2030, just nine years away.
The U.S. President, elected on a promise to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement from which former President Donald Trump had withdrawn, also committed to large and immediate cuts in U.S. carbon-dioxide emissions.
If implemented, the Biden policy will transform the United States.
