This year marks the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Charter of the United Nations. Australian decision makers, led by External Affairs Minister and Attorney-General Herbert Vere “Doc” Evatt had been prominent in working to secure a place in the UN for small and medium powers. It is therefore iniquitous that one of the original signatories has been excluded from the UN.
