Burma as it exemplifies Murphy’s law*

At this time three years ago, I was cycling through the backblocks of Burma. Most Burmese people live on the land. They grow crops and vegetables for sale in the market. They are mostly poor, but generous with what they have.

Tourism and foreign investment were encouraged, to an extent, under the administration of Aung San Suu Kyi, which has been overthrown recently in a military coup….
