Taiwan: A perfect fit for the trans-pacific partnership*

Taiwan is a prosperous island with an open economy; it wishes to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Two major Pacific economies are not members of the CPTPP – the United States and the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
