The unfortunate events of Thursday 16 September – in which the Queensland Parliament voted through assisted suicide legislation at 61-30 votes – bring to mind neither blame nor judgement for the foolish supporters of such legislation but instead the words of a penitential prayer:
“I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do.”
