Just this week, a new law came into effect in the US state of Texas outlawing abortion once a foetal heartbeat has been detected – usually around 6 weeks.
As one can image the prospect of this law did not sit well with certain activist groups, including a group of abortion providers who filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court to block the bill.
