The “bright” sparks in the Labor Party, who thought up the idea of exhuming the Children Overboard carcass, as a lead-up to the election, and subsequently rounded up all the Howard-haters in the media to breathlessly follow suit, should be either superannuated out of their jobs, or transferred to something a little simpler for them, such as running a raffle.
I’ve just completed an extensive business trip through central and northern Queensland and to say that many people are fed up with hearing about the Children Overboard, and frankly couldn’t care less, no matter how many public servants armed with their whistles appear an our TV screens, would be to understate the case.
Also, I wonder how many people are aware that the bulk of political letters, sent to newspapers before an election, comes from party members at branch level?
There are two reasons why more come from the Labor Party. First, Labor members have the foot-soldiers. Second, they treat their politics as a religion, whereas Coalition members lack that motivation because they treat their politics as a hobby.
