Sir,
Your special correspondent has done a lot of research to compile the article, “Bloodbath looms in war-torn Sri Lanka” (News Weekly, April 14, 2007).
The contents of this article are accurate. I just want add one more point: that is, the Sri Lankan Government and the armed forces are engaged in the genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka, specially in the eastern province.
In the name of liberating the area from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), the armed forces are forcing the Tamils to flee the area and colonising those areas with ethnic Sinhalese.
The important point is, the colonisation and the ethnic-cleansing are being conducted using funds provided by donor countries to help the displaced people. But, instead of helping the displaced people, these funds are being utilised to illegal colonisation.
I hope the donor countries, including Australia, will put pressure on the Sri Lankan Government to stop this colonisation project.
