Two incidents last week deserve comment.
1. A patient with bone cancer was left naked and uncovered in a consulting room while the “very highly esteemed doctor” went and attended to something somewhere else. On returning, the doctor took four telephone calls before attending to the patient. This did nothing for her confidence.
2. Twelve elderly residents are to be evicted from an aged care hostel, “Woolcott Court” in Wahroonga, Sydney. Woolcott Court went bankrupt and was put up for auction on July 4 as “Vacant Possession”.
There is no compensation for these elderly residents. What is to become of them?
It is a cruel world if you are old or sick.
